FAMIILY COUNTRY TALENT NIGHT

We participated in the first ever family country talent night! Sam led us off with a short history of North Korea and a Yellow Belt Form. Then mom told about her trip to Germany and shared some German Money. Her talent won for best talent, as she danced to MC Hammer's Can't Touch This. Everyone was amazed at her dancing abilities. Nathan shared a LONG reading about Great Britain and then shared his talent of reading aloud from a Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul. Dad shared about Russia and how he learned to speak and read Russian before he went. He donned his beaverpelt hat and told us the history of records. His talent was teaching us how to say the alphabet. We were not very good at all. Maybe next time you visit, you can participate in Family Country Talent Night!

The Bow Hunters

Doug and Nate took the day off today and headed up to Phx. The Cabelas up there is a hunter's dream. Nate got a Parker Sidekick SP and Doug got a Bear Instinct. They are so excited! I'm not sure what it all means and had to let them use my kick butt car to go up there. But all in all they had a nice time! Although Doug informed me that he failed Nate as a father. Nathan asked why some of the elk didn't have horns. Doug had to explain to him that they were girls!

Nathan the Handsome

Nate has officially grown past his dad! We went shoe shopping and he went from an 8.5 in Dec to a 10.5 now! I can't afford this kid! He loves his haircut and we added some highlights this weekend - Dad had flashbacks to his high school days and took over! Watch out girls - here he comes!

Spring Break Relaxation Time!

Kaleb has been here for the week relaxing and enjoying the warm weather. The boys have been glad to be out of school - playing video games, jumping on the trampoline and going out for pizza have been the highlights. Doug took them all out to the driving range the other evening - and tonight they may go see a movie. It's low key, but that's how we like it! I've gotten lots of reading in and even some homework - of course I have logged about 16 miles of running this week - not bad!

Sam the Musician

Sam had a big concert a week ago. He played with all of the schools that feed into one of the high schools here. There were 9 bands total with packed stands. He did a great job!

Cruising with Friends

We went on a cruise to Cabo San Lucas with my best friend Karen and her hubby Gregg. We had a blast. Found Sammy Hagar's bar Cabo Wabo and had a drink there! It was nice to relax and hang out with good friends and lots of food and beverages!

First Posting

Here we are...into the 21st Century! Can you believe it?

Here is a little history to catch you up on our life.
Doug and I married in 1991. Kaleb was born in 1992, Nate in 1994 and Sam in 1998
We tried for the girl, but to no avail! We started out in Laramie, Wy. Moved to Rock Springs for a year and then headed to Colorado. We lived there for 5 years while I went to school and Doug found a job with Schwans delivering ice cream. In 1997, Doug was promoted to management and brought us to Tucson, where we have been ever since! We love the mild winters and warm summers(inside where it is air conditioned) but we miss our family and friends.

Kaleb is now 16 and just got his learner's permit. He lives in RS with Doug's parents and my parents help out with him on the weekends. He had a rough start to growing up being diagnosed with Tourette's, OCD, and BiPolar disorder. The small town, small school district setting has helped him be successful at maintaining a level of stability. He is on the speech and debate team and is a very right wing conservative guy! He is a great pianist and singer. We are proud of him. Did I mention he is quite handsome too?

Nathan is 13 and has found girls and texting! UGH! He is in the 7th grade, in honor's classes and participates in National Jr. Honor Society. He has broke our bank account needing braces and enjoying getting his hair done "just right"! He has to be hip and happening!

SHHHSHHH! Don't tell anyone I posted his alter ego pic!

Sam in now in the 4th grade. He got his first set of golf clubs this summer, but doesn't think Dad takes him golfing enough! He loves to play tricks on people, cook and bother his big brother. He is in Tae Kwon Do and has earned a camo belt degree. He also plays the saxaphone in the school band and is much better than we thought he would be when he first squeeked out his first notes!

Jack and Jill are out pain in the butt dogs! They cause us much grief because they are so naughty! The big one thinks she is a cat and likes to be treated as such. The little on likes to eat shoes so you better hide them when you come to my house! (My mom just found that one out!)

Doug is still a sales manager for Schwans Fine Foods. He manages a depot on the south side of Tucson. The recently built him a new facility so he isn't housed next to the prostitutes and crack houses. No more calls home saying he'll be late due to the cops doing drug busts next door. He is also working on a master's degree in his spare time!

I am teaching 5th grade at Copper Creek Elementary School. I just received my National Board Certification this past November and finished a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. In January, I ran a half marathon in PHX so I think I am all that and more!

Check in here often to see the comings and goings of the Wall family! Hope to see you around.
