I went on a much needed girl's weekend only trip. It was relaxing and fun to just hang out and be with a good friend! Karen picked me up in Denver on Thursday evening and we spent the night in Loveland. 
After a morning of hitting a couple of shops in the outlet mall, we made our way up the highway to Estes. We saw Big Horn sheep and beautiful fall folliage. 
Once we got to Estes, we spent the day walking around and visiting the little shops in the downtown area. We had a great lunch at a little hole in the wall and then went for a drive around town to see if we could find the elk - which we did! 
Then we checked into a beautiful little room with a view of the river and the mountains. We walked to dinner. 
The next day we went to see the Old Stanley Hotel - of The Shining fame and then up into Rocky Mountain National Park.
It was gorgeous and COLD! We headed into Cheyenne and I got to spend some time at the Big House on the Prairie with Austin and Morgan.
